At AALC, we are honored to have so many remarkable residents who are living well beyond 100 years of age in our Supportive Living communities. Their stories are inspiring reminders of resilience, joy, and the value of every moment. Each year, we proudly recognize all of the centenarians in our communities and award a special cash prize to Supportive Living’s oldest resident. It’s our way of celebrating their lives, honoring their experiences, and sharing their wisdom with the world. We invite you to take a moment to meet these incredible individuals and join us in celebrating their extraordinary milestones. |

WINNER Heritage Woods of Dwight Wilma Lampman…what a wonderful woman. We are blessed to have her at Heritage Woods of Dwight. She is 104 years young and has so much more life to live. She credits her amazing parents for teaching her great values and giving her strong role models. Wilma was a schoolteacher as well as a librarian throughout her life and is still known to read 5 books at one time. Her teaching of youth during a very segregated time in this world showed other races other than her own, that not all people think the same. And yet we are all just as equal and deserve the same treatment as one another. She is very proud of teaching in an all-black community, during a time that she remembers being looked down on for it. We are proud to have one of the many voices that stood up for others when something was not right and needed a change. She has many talents, but her grace, kindness and knowledge are some of her best qualities. Wilma has made many great friendships here in Dwight and is always willing to lend any idea of hers. She never ceases to amaze us with her brilliance and willingness to participate. We could count on her to always be one of the only residents to show up three times a week for Sittercise. She comes to all events that we have with the Public Health Department and has taught us it’s never too late to learn something new. This December we will be celebrating Wilmas turning 105! We are so thankful for the opportunity to share some of the reasons we love her and get to celebrate her truly admirable legacy. |
