2025 COLORING CONTEST GUIDE & RULES

KEY DATES & OVERVIEW

Grateful Living Coloring Contest

Supportive Living communities now is the time to show off your residents’ creative and colorful sides by participating in a coloring project!    Whether your residents choose to participate as individuals or as part of a group, this is a fun and colorful way for them to showcase their creativity, connect and express themselves.

Two Ways to Participate:  Individual Coloring Contest (prizes) or Group Coloring Contest (no prizes)

NO NEED TO REGISTER!
Simply submit your photos with key information by April 25.

1. Individual Coloring Contest
Prizes Awarded & Lots of Recognition!

Do you have some creative individuals who want to showcase their creative coloring talents? This is perfect for them! Unlike the group coloring project where we ask communities to work together to color giant posters, the individual coloring contest will ask talented individuals from throughout the state to submit a smaller format coloring piece for the chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place!

Description:

1.      Your community can provide a specific design for everyone to color, or you can let everyone choose anything they’d like to color.
2.      Each community can choose what they want to use: markers, crayons, colored pencils, chalk or any combination.
3.      Set a deadline for the coloring project to be finished (before April 25, 2025).
4.      HOLD A CONTEST! You decide how you want to vote on a winner from your community:
a.      Post final colorings on a wall or table and ask residents to vote. The coloring project with the most votes wins.
b.      Create a committee within the community or ask individuals outside of the community to get involved.
5.      Once a winner has been selected, send a photo of the final coloring project to AALC by April 25, 2025.
6.      Photos of the final submitted artwork will be included in the Annual Meeting Slide Show and on the AALC website.
7.      AALC will review the submissions and award prizes to the top 3 artists!

2. Group Coloring Project
No Prizes Awarded (But Lots of Recognition!)

A group coloring project is a fun way to bring people together, spark conversations, and share a little laughter. It’s a simple activity that creates connections and brightens the day and reminds us that we all have something to be grateful for!

Description:

1.      Purchase a large format poster (posters can be found online at Amazon, etc.) and have residents create a group artwork project that celebrates togetherness and friendships.
2.      Let your group decide on a design they’d like to color. Be creative and show us how you can all come together to create a beautiful and bright work of art that is uniquely your own!
3.      Each community can choose what they want to use: markers, crayons, colored pencils, chalk or any combination.
4.      Set a deadline for the coloring project to be finished. We suggest early April (before April 25, 2025).
5.      Send photos of final completed poster(s) to AALC by April 25, 2025.
6.      If you have several groups working on different posters, have the community or committee select a winner!
7.      Photos of the final submitted artwork will be included in the Annual Meeting Slide Show and on the AALC website.
8.      This is a fun activity meant to bring your community members together to create a work of art with friends.  There will be no awards given for submitted posters in the Group Coloring Project.
