Kelly Hurst, Ed.D., TIPC Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Director, Health Equity Scholars Co-Director, Equity Ambassadors Assistant Professor in Medical Humanities Trauma Informed Professional Coach Kelly Hurst, Ed.D., currently serves as the Equity and Inclusion Strategist for the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI), Director of the Health Equity Scholars Pathway (HESP) for the SIU School of Medicine, Co-Director of the Equity Ambassadors Program for faculty and staff, and is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medical Humanities and Population Science & Policy. As the HESP Director, she works directly with leadership and students at SIU School of Medicine on certification levels for faculty and graduating medical students who opt to learn about various equitable issues alongside their medical studies, rotations, research, and clerkshipShe continues to work nationally to address health inequities through GDI, AAME, and locally in her community with the Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network. She completed her Ed. D at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a member of the Medical Student Accommodations Advisory committee, contributes as faculty to the Accelerate 2.0 Leadership model through the Center for Human and Organizational Potential at SIU as a small group leader and instructor, and is a member of the Anti-Racism Task Force (ARTF) led by the Dean of Equity and Inclusion. |
